Bell's cutting edge development of next-generation aerodynamic helmets has produced the Star GP helmet. Using recommendations from the world’s best Indy, F1, and Karting racers, the SAH2010 Star GP is the helmet of choice for formula and open wheel racing. Featuring an ultra-lightweight carbon composite shell, high-tech styling and a Pro-Plus Style interior that provides superior comfort, the Star GP has an innovative air intake system for maximum ventilation and superior aerodynamic performance.

The Star GP comes standard with a .190mm front air intake that forces air into the helmet’s forehead vents for maximum ventilation. An optional .160mm air intake is also available (sold separately) for high-speed configurations. It is also designed to utilize Bell Aero Kits to configure the high speed auto racer's aerodynamic needs. The Star GP comes standard with a front Aero lip and chin bar built into the helmet, the optional add-on aerodynamic kits options available are:

Chin bar gurneys which add additional down force to the front of the helmet help prevent lift.

Rear spoilers are also easily purchased which can improve overall helmet stability.

Top wicker gurneys which create an "air separation point" at the top of the helmet to allow airflow to detach from the helmet which can reduce buffeting.

Because of airflow accelerates at higher speeds, it is recommended by Bell to use larger size gurneys at lower speeds and medium or smaller gurneys as speeds increase.

Each Star GP helmet is certified to meet the new Snell SAH2010 standard which requires helmets to be tested to the Snell SA2010 standard plus additional testing for use with Hans type restraint devices. Bell is the first helmet manufacturer to obtain certification for helmets to this new standard. Bell's M6 terminal hardware is integrated (installed) into the helmet and is ready and waiting to accept your Hans type head and neck restraint anchor system hardware. (Does NOT include device anchors.)
