I have a 1975 GMC Jimmy that i just performed a frame off restoration on. Originally it had lap belts that were way past their prime (frayed and busted and no longer functional) those were just about worn out. I was going to just finish the truck without belts until I found out they were required for inspection. I was just going to put a set of generic lap belts in and I then saw these retractable belts and found you could opt for a push button end and thought they would be very nice in the truck and stay tidy when unused. I was able to bolt them right in to the existing mounting points. They went unused until last night. The wife and I were returning home from visiting friends when a snow storm snuck up on us. With the change in condition I suggested that we may want to buckle up and fastened mine. The wife who never belts up rolled her eyes and then went ahead and buckled up as well too. My wife noted that the belt had to be pulled the whole way out to lock up or it only locked when there was a quick movement. Good thing we belted up as we hit some black ice and slid into the median shortly there after. I was able to drive back onto the interstate and made it home without further event. When we got home the wife commented how nice the belts were and how safe it felt. Glad we had them even happier we donned them and they kept us in our seats.

We have a nicely rebuilt a 1950 gmc truck. During the pandemic I spent my down time making several updates to the truck. One upgrade was adding a passenger and driver seatbelt. I chose these belts to the explicit reason of having and accessible male end that was neat and tidy when not in use and the rigid end push button belts because i much prefer the style buckle and i had the seat cushion custom made to allow the stalk out for easy access. However immediately after installation my now ex-girlfriend did not like buckling up and did like sliding in the center next to me and managed to jam the buckle end behind the seat. I picked my adult daughter up last weekend to head to dinner and shopping. After she was settled in (and we were already headed on the highway) she extended the belt to buckle up only to realize the female end was mia and then vocally commented about all the effort i went through to install belts to just make sure they went unused. Needless to say I immediately pulled over and retrieved the female ends of the belts so we could both belt up. Honestly that was the first time i had worn them and they were comfortable and felt very safe. They are simple to use and very visually appealing
